This play is a story of teenagers growing up in the Bay Area and how gentrification uproots lives, regardless of who you are. A fantastical dance ensemble, with designs inspired by Yoruban Orisha gods, combined with actors in a present-day Bay Area culture create a striking contrast and an element of magical realism. I assisted the designer with the final production of almost every costume, and the renderings I created, pictured above, represent: Orange Dancer, Yellow Dancer, Slam Poet, Sasha, and Vero.
